Why @CherylBudge Continues to Inspire Me Everyday #WomenInTech
This is a Lenovo sponsored post.
March is Women’s History Month and Lenovo is taking this month to honor 10 young women who have excelled in the male-dominated STEM fields (see infographic at the end of the post.) At the same time, they have asked me to write about one women who inspires me.
A Woman Who Inspires Me Daily
Cheryl Budge and I have found through the years that we have a lot in common. When I’m looking for inspiration, I turn to the women who are like me. It makes me feel like I can accomplish my goals too.
Cheryl started her blog around the same time I did. She has used social media and networking to grow her following of loyal friends and fans. She was raising a family while working on her blog.
She takes those skills she learned growing her blogging business into her community. She carved out a spot with her current position that allows her to spend more time with her family, continue to grow her business and work in her community.
I have watched her step outside her comfort zone many times. She doesn’t let the opinions of others sway her from her goal. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her say, “I can’t.” When she has a goal, she figures out the best way for her to reach her goal and puts the plan into action.
She does what she feels is best for her and her family regardless of whether it’s the popular choice. As women, we often forget to take care of ourselves first. Cheryl takes the time to take care of herself and also makes time for her family.
Recently, she has put her efforts in to the goal of running and living a healthier lifestyle. As with everything, she is going above and beyond the original goals she set. Her goal was to just finish a 5k. Well she is now planning to run a half marathon.
Cheryl uses her platform to inspire others to reach their goals. She is always reminding me that I can and I will.
