Are you looking for a good book to help you enjoy the lazy days of summer at the pool? Try Here, Home, Hope (affiliate link) by Karia Rouda. It is a very easy read and perfect for the pool. Here, Home, Hope is about Kelly, a suburban mother in her 39th year and her journey through a reinvention.
It’s a book that all mothers will find something they can relate to. My kids are getting older and my oldest son is a sophomore in high school. It makes me realize how little time our family has together. In 3 years my son will be graduating and even if he stays home for school, our lives will change dramatically. Here, Home, Hope reminded me to stop and enjoy the moments now. Even the moments where I’m screaming, the kids are screaming and we all don’t like each other much. When my kids are grown, I will miss those moments of chaos.
I could also relate to the feeling of envy towards other mothers or women. We never seem to feel that we are as good as everyone else. And how many times have we gone through a life makeover, planning to change every aspect of our life. I enjoyed the humor of all the things we go through as mothers and women.
