Five For Fighting, Slice Reviewed #Spon
I have had the new album, Slice from Five For Fighting for a few weeks now. Whenever I listen to a new album, I never like it right away because the songs aren’t familiar to me. I have to listen to the album over and over to figure out which songs speak to me and which ones don’t. I’ve been listening to Five For Fighting a lot lately and honestly, it’s not my favorite album from Five For Fighting, but I do like it a lot.
All of the songs are sung beautifully and in the usual Five For Fighting style. Each song is telling a story about their family, friends and current events. I think the songs are more beautiful when you stop and really listen to the words and understand what he is singing about.
My favorite songs are Love Can’t Change the Weather, This Dance, Chances, Slice and Story of Your Life. Story of Your Life was written for John Ondrasik’s wife of 12 years which makes the song even more beautiful to me.
If you are a Five For Fighting fan, you definitely will not be disappointed with this album. It delivers the usual Five For Fighting thoughtful poetic lyrics combined with a beautiful voice.
