Online Reputation Management for Dummies

Online Reputation Management for Dummies is broken down to 6 parts.

Part 1 starts out by showing you what your online reputation is and how to plan to manage it.

Part 2 explains how to put together a team to help you manage your online reputation. This section is geared more for companies or people who can afford to hire others to help, but there is good information that is pertinent to anyone.

Part 3, Listening is Love, shows you the tools you will use to manage your online reputation. She also explains how to set up those tools. There is a really good chapter called, “Researching Your SEO Keywords,” and I learned a lot in this chapter. This is a must read chapter!

Part 4 goes through establishing your reputation. She gives shows you how to give your brand a voice and use the online tools to establish your reputation. Chapter 13 goes through using visuals in managing your online reputation. This is an important chapter now that the internet is becoming very visual.

Part 5 is one that we need to know, but hope we never need, dealing with a crisis. It’s better to learn how to handle the crisis before you are in a crisis.

Part 6 is the Part of Tens that you find in all for Dummies books. A lot of awesome ideas in this last chapter.

Overall, I felt the book was geared more towards companies or large brands, but there were so many ideas that anyone can use whether a company or person. Definitely worth a read for anyone who is online.

  • actually, its up to google, follow google they say, trend indicate that google+ will be use, so, better have a good one, about the the dummies books, i think they are doing a good job, explaining the basics 😉

    • Actually, most social media networks don’t show up on Google, so if you’re waiting for news about you or your brand to hit google before you react, you’re already sunk. Google+ is awesome, but by no means the only social network people share on.
