Walmart’s Fights Hunger. Spark Change. Twitter Party 9/30 #HungerAction #Vote2FightHunger
Hungry Kids
Fight Hunger. Spark Change.
Walmart is teaming up with G. Garvin, a chef, cookbook author and TV host and is asking you to show your support for your local food bank by voting online here through October 5. You can vote once each day and the top 50 winning food banks will receive a $60,000 grant to help feed the hungry in your community.
Along with voting, you can find information about how you can volunteer or give directly to help fight hunger in your community. This campaign will bring the monetary equivalent of more than 37 million meals to Feeding America food banks throughout the US. That is a lot of meals that will feed hungry people.
Never Knowing Hunger
Each day as it nears lunchtime and my stomach starts growling and I’m hungry, I feel my energy and mood go way down. I have a hard time focusing on anything. I ate breakfast at 7:00 am and it’s about Noon when I feel my hunger pains.
I can not even imagine how it must feel when you have not had a meal in a day. I think about kids in school trying to learn when they have not had a meal since lunch the day before.
