Tech Gift Guide Under $50
Mophie Powerstation (affiliate link)
The Mophie Powerstation is always a good gadget to have with you. I like it because it’s lightweight and can be used to charge different cell phones. You just need the cord for your phone.
JVC Fitness Sports Headphones (affiliate link)
I received these headphones to try and I loved them because they stay in my ears when I’m running (and the music sounds good.) They come in several different colors and are inexpensive.
Perfect for active people.
With the Google Chromecast, you can cast video from your phone, tablet or computer and to your TV. My kids like to use it to watch YouTube videos on the TV. I like to use it on a TV in my office. It’s not connected to our cable, so I can watch shows from Netflix on the TV through my tablet.
Perfect for TV lover teens, tweens and adult.
Build & Imagine Pet Portrait Studio (affiliate link)
This is an awesome STEM toy for kids. As the box says, it inspires storytelling and imagination. My daughter loved to put it together in different ways.
Perfect for grade school aged kids.
Pocket Party Speaker (Indiegogo)
This is a very cool little bluetooth speaker. It lights up and will change colors and “dance” in sync with the music, but it also collapses down and is small enough to fit in your back pocket. It has a suction cup on the bottom and you can turn any pizza box into a subwoofer!
Perfect for teens and tweens.
Tech Gift Guide $51 to $100
Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 14
This is the software I use for editing my photos on my blog and for creating digital scrapbooking pages. See my full Photoshop Elements 14 review.
Perfect for bloggers, scrapbookers, photography enthusiasts.
Olioclip 4-IN-1 for iPhone (affiliate link)
This is a gift I want for Christmas. It adds 4 new lenses to your iPhone. I had the first version of this several iPhones ago. I need a new Olioclip for my iPhone 6s Plus. I like that this has a clip you can add so you can easily use the lenses on the front or back camera.
Perfect for bloggers, scrapbookers.
Ubisoft Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege (affiliate link)
My son just tested this out an said it is AWESOME!! One of his favorite games. My son is 12 and I do let him play some Mature games. If you are unsure whether it’s ok for your child, try the game out before you let them play it.
Perfect for mature gamers.
The only heart monitor strap I will wear (it’s not uncomfortable. See my full Wahoo Tickr review.
Perfect for fitness buffs.
I asked my college-aged son to test this hoodie for me. (received hoodie to test for my gift guider.) He hates heavy jackets and always has several devices to carry along with wallet, keys, etc around campus. He said the jacket is very comfortable (it’s very soft.) He loves the headphones slot and the key fob so you don’t lose your keys.
And my favorite part of the jacket is the 2 pockets at your sides. One for your stuff and one for your hands.
As you can see in the photo below, there are pockets for different things. There are 10 total pockets. I want to buy this hoodie for all my kids .
Perfect for travelers, college students, teens.
Netflix Gift Cards (affiliate link)
I love giving Netflix gift cards because it’s something that can be used all year-long. And even if someone has it, it’s still useful.
Perfect for college students and grandparents.
Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Film Camera (affiliate link)
This is a fun camera. My kids love to watch the photos develop. It comes in several different colors. You will need to buy the film separately.
Tech Gift Guide $101 to $250
Beats Solo 2 Wired Headphones (affiliate link)
These are the headphones all my kids have. They come in really fun colors, collapse so they are easy to carry with you and have awesome sound. This color below is my favorite color.
Perfect for teens, tweens and college students.
Amazon Echo (affiliate link)
I LOVE my echo. It sits in our kitchen and we ask her questions all the time. She tells us the weather and news in the morning. I listen to music with her when I’m cooking dinner. And my favorite feature is the shopping list. We can tell Alexa to add items to the shopping list and they immediately show up in the app (on everyone’s phone.) When we buy the item, we check it off.
I have also read that many people use it at their desk. I am going to try that and see how I like using the Echo in my business.
Perfect for families and home business owners.
We just invested in the new Apple TV. We wanted to watch Game of Thrones on the TV in our bedroom so we needed the HBO app. I love the apps on the Apple TV and having Siri available is pretty awesome too. It’s so easy to find the exact show you want rather than typing it up with the remote (which I hate doing.)
Perfect for friends, mom and dad, college students.
Darkside by Sphero & BB-8 (affiliate link)
These two Sphero toys are so much fun. We bought the BB-8 and we received the Darkside to try. Both are run by apps on your phone. They are so fun to control. We also have 3 cats which adds a whole new level of fun.
The BB-8 is meant to be used indoors and is a bit more fragile. We close our basement door when BB-8 is running around because I don’t it falling down the stairs (although it has and it survived.) I like that BB-8 rolls around and gets into adventures while I’m working. I talk to BB-8 as if it was one of the cats.
The Darkside can be used inside or outside and has different wheels for the different uses. It’s very rugged and can be used in dirt and up and down hills. I think it would be a lot of fun in the snow. My son like the Darkside because he likes to see what things it will climb over and he likes to see it go down the stairs and then keep going.
Perfect for any Star Wars fans.
This Nextbook is an awesome little device. It can be a laptop or a tablet. The screen comes off the keyboard and you have a tablet. I love these 2-in-1 devices because you can use it for different things. Sometimes you want a tablet you use with your fingers and sometimes you need an external keyboard for typing.
The Nextbook is so small that it easily fits in your purse or backpack. I received the Nextbook to test.
Perfect for students.
Fitbit Charge HR (affiliate link)
Of all the Fitbits I have tried, the Charge HR is my favorite. It’s still small enough that it doesn’t interfere with typing on my keyboard. But it also has a small display with the time, steps and more. I also like having the heart rate (HR) feature.
I found that I do have more steps when I’m tracking them. Fitbit has an awesome app that sync with the tracker. You can compete with your friends.
Perfect for anyone who wants to live a healthier lifestyle.
Clarisonic Mia 2 (affiliate link)
I bought my Clarisonic over the summer and I noticed a big different in my skin within a week. I often get black and white heads and I noticed that I get a lot less when I’m using my Clarisonic. There are different colors and different versions. I have the Mia 2 with the travel case.
Perfect for the teens, college students.
CUBE Streaming Social Media Display (affiliate link)
This is one of those gadgets I received to test and was surprised at how much I loved it. You set it up with your Instagram account and it streams the photos/videos to the display. It’s so much fun to see your Instagram stream this way. The videos will play automatically.
I told my tween I would let her have it when I was done testing it because Instagram is her lifeline! It connects wirelessly to your WiFi . It has a rechargeable battery, but I keep mine plugged in all the time.
Perfect for tweens (must have Instagram to use.)
ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fierce XL Android metroPCS phone
This is an inexpensive Android phone option. It does everything any other Android phone does, but it is $139 (only available on metroPCS.) This is a perfect starter phone for kids. I know I don’t like to spend a lot of money on phones for my kids.
This phone has a really cool photo app built in it. You can be very creative with your photos and you don’t need to add an app to do it. Here is a sample of a photo I created on the phone.
Tech Gift Guide Over $250
Apple Watch Sport (affiliate link)
I love my Apple Watch. I wear it every day. I like the fitness features and I like that I can answer my phone, text, use Siri and use many apps without having my phone in my hand. It might be because I have the 6s Plus which is a large phone. My husband decided to buy one also after he saw mine and he really likes his too.
Perfect for anyone with an iPhone who loves gadgets.
Apple iPhone 6S Plus (affiliate link)
This is my phone. I have 2 phones that I love and this is one. I’ve been an iPhone fan since they came out and my entire family has one. They are so simple to use and the photos are the best. There are so many options for apps. If you need it, “there is an app for that.”
I received the Note 5 for Sprint to review and this is the second phone I love. I seriously go back and forth between the two. I LOVE the pen with the Galaxy Note. I got my mom and sister hooked on the Note phones. The screens are bright and the S Pen makes the phone to a whole new level.
See my full review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on Sprint.
I received the Nest from Best Buy to review and fell in love. Just being able to control the temperature from my phone has changed my life. It learns how you like the temperature set and adjusts accordingly. You use the app to change the temp. If you are on vacation, you don’t have to worry about pipes freezing, just change the temperature wherever you are.
See my full review of the Nest Thermostat at Best Buy.
Perfect for home owners.
NETGEAR Arlo Home Security System
Arlo is a very convenient home security system. I like it because it is wireless and so easy to move the cameras to new locations. Sometimes I want it pointed at my front porch and sometimes I want it in my basement (during a tween sleepover.)
See my full review of the Arlo.
Dell XPS 13 (affiliate link)
This is an awesome, lightweight and long battery-life laptop. With the extra battery charger that comes with it, I can get a full day and both the laptop and extra charger fit in my purse and do not add a lot of weight. Love it!!
See my full review of the Dell XPS 13.
Perfect for students or those on-the-go.
The Surface Pro 4 is such a fun device. I LOVE the stylus that comes with it. It also snaps to the side of the tablet with a strong magnet. I read all of my ebooks and PDFs on my Surface. I use the pen to fill out PDF workbooks.
It’s a great device for college students because it easily goes from a laptop to a movie-watching device. For me, the stylus was the selling point.
Perfect for everyone!
Xbox One With Kinect (affiliate link)
The Kinect is my favorite thing about the Xbox One. I love to do fitness games because anytime I can work out and feel like I’m playing a game (instead of working out,) then I’m all over it. With the Kinect, I do NOT need to hold any controllers. I just move and the Xbox recognizes me.
We also use ours as our main media device in our Family Room. Now, I want to say, “Xbox On!” every time I want to turn a TV on in any room. I can say, “Xbox, watch NBC” and the channel changes. Oh..and you can play games on the Xbox One too! Our current game is Lego Dimensions (affiliate link.)
Canon EOS Rebel SL1 DSLR Camera (affiliate link)
And last, but not least, my FAVORITE camera. My husband bought me this Canon camera for Christmas last year. I need to have a small camera because my hands are small. This camera takes beautiful photos and fits in my hand. I carried it around everywhere for 10 days in Hawaii for our vacation over the summer and was not too heavy.
The nice thing is that I can use the same lenses my husband uses for his bigger Canon camera.
Perfect for digital scrapbookers, bloggers and families.
