Getting Over The Whole Dang Pancreatic Story & Looking Forward
Now that you have read the whole story of my gallbladder and pancreas health problems for the last 10 year, I can write the post I had intended to write when I got side-tracked with my story. I never imaged my story would be close to 3000 words and end up being 5 posts.
So where am I now? I am working very hard to put this all behind me both physically and emotionally. I have gained about 25 lbs during the last year and of course I’m beating myself up emotionally over that. My struggles with healthy living are nothing new. I’m trying hard to view this as one as another chapter in my story and not a failure.
2011 Goals
In order to get back to being healthy, I have set some goals. My first being to eat a healthy breakfast every morning in January. I need to start my day on a positive note. I usually eat oatmeal or an egg beaters omelet with lo-fat cheese. If I’m in a hurry I will have a protein bar.
My goal for Februay is to start tracking everything I eat again on SparkPeople and to eat at home for dinner every night.
On the exercise side, I have set a big goal too. I’m going to run a half marathon on June 5, 2011. This week I am going to set up my training schedule since I’m completely off the pain meds so I can run again.
I will be taking you on the journey with me. I plan to focus on being healthy and not dwelling on the past 10 years. So here is to looking forward to 2011! Each Monday I will give you an update and a goal for the week, starting tomorrow.
