What’s On Your F**cket List? Fifty Two Shades of Blue-ish
What is a F**cket List? My interpretation? A F**cket List is a fun Bucket List. Maybe your Bucket List is fun, so you already have one.
A F**cket List was created by Karen S. Exkorn, author of Fifty Two Shades of Blue-ish, a Jewish parody of the Fifty Two Shades of Gray series. You can download a chapter from the book at the end of the post.
My F**cket List
I thought this was going to be really easy, but instead I spent my time wondering whether each item I thought should go on my F**cket List was really fun. Or is it just stupid? That’s when I decided I really need this F**cket List because I’m analyzing everything way too much.
The item I keep coming back to is running a marathon. Now I know to many that would not be fun which is why I struggled putting it down. But for me, it’s something that I want to do so bad, but I’ve been afraid to even consider it.
Last year, I decided I was going to run a half marathon and told myself I’ll never run a marathon. I trained really hard all summer and then completed the Rock ‘n Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon.
I am so proud of that medal, but I’ve felt compelled to do more, but afraid to say it out loud. So, this is me…now declaring that I want to run a full marathon by the end of 2013. Why? Just because I know I can.
Hi Michelle.
Go for it, I did a marathon last summer while I was training to do triathlons. I didn’t really train for it I just upped the distance on my run sessions to about 12 miles which I know is way short. But I really wanted to do one and thought I would just go for it.
So glad I did the most enjoyable and painful run I have ever had and the elation when you get to the end and realise you have done it is sheer heaven.
So go for it lee
Thanks for the encouragement. I’m currently signed up for 3 half marathons this year and I’m going to do one more. Then my 2014 goal will be a full. I have to spread them out. The only way I keep running is when I have something to run for. Otherwise I have too many excuses as to why I can’t run. Congrats on your marathon & triathlons. Triathlons don’t interest me. I hate biking.
Well, I’m not going to admit why I clicked on this posts’ title 🙂
But, wow, I love the concept of the F**ket List. My current aspiration is developing an habitual meditation practise. Maybe not as energetic as running a marathon which is really admirable, Michele. It just something I want to do and I now find it both fun as well as calming.
I’m keeping the topic of F**ket List on my proposed blog list for my own 🙂
