This past weekend, I had some friends over for a well-needed Girls Night In to preview the new Bridesmaids movie. We started the evening with a little conversation and some Mojitos & Margaritas and of course chips & dip. Then we got to the real reason we gathered, to watch the Bridesmaids movie.
Bridesmaids Movie Review
The Bridesmaids movie stars Kristen Wiig & Maya Rudolph, both from Saturday Night Live as 2 grown women who have been BFFs forever. Maya plays Lillian who is getting married and Annie (Kristen Wiig) is her Maid of Honor. The other 4 Bridesmaids are played by Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper.
Just about anything that can go wrong, does go wrong in Annie’s life and that spills over into her role of Maid of Honor for Lillian’s wedding. The movie is both funny and touching. The Bridesmaids movie is portrays women’s friendships from many sides including jealousy, love, hate, successes and failures. But in the end, it is a comedy and is hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie with my friends.

The Bridesmaids movie is rated R and it definitely deserves the rating. It is not a movie for children or even young teens.
If you are planning a Girls Night In and need some comedy relief for the evening, then the Bridesmaids move is your pick. Don’t let the thought of planning a party, stop you. I sent out invitations via email on evite. I bought appetizers that were already made and the drinks we had Jason prepare for us. Remember that the fun of the Girls Night In is the friendship.
The snacks we munched on during the movie. Need popcorn and candy!!
