Here we are at the end of month 3 of our Just Dance Just Sweat Dream Team fun. While we did a great job with Just Dancing, we struggled with the eating portion of our plan. Throughout my life I’ve noticed that if I try to do an “all out change everything at once” plan, I am overwhelmed and I drag my feet in some areas. So instead of dwelling on the portion of my plan where I didn’t do well (eating), I’m going to tell you about the exciting part.


Yes, I’m yelling at you because we’re so excited. A neighbor asked me to go with her to a weekly Bootcamp class that is at 7:00 am every Saturday morning in the parking lot of a grocery store near our house. I figured I would give it a try, but I was scared because I felt like I was out of shape.

Being Healthy & Fit!

I went to the first class and we did an obstacle course and a week later when she sent me the results and what it meant…I completed 1.2 rounds which put me in the “Healthy & Fit” category for my age group. WHAT? Me? Fit? So, I know that doing the Just Dance weekly has been helping. I’m losing inches and I am getting fit. That is what my original goals were.

Sami started her dance classes this past week and she is dancing 4 days every week and she is able to keep up and feel awesome. So she feels like the Just Dance helped her stay fit during the summer when she wasn’t dancing regularly at the dance studio.

Focus on the Positive

I started this process to help me train for the half marathon. Due to a foot injury, I was not able to complete half marathon because I can not run more than 5 miles right now without pain in my foot. BUT, I am getting better and better at running those 5 miles.

This was the news and the kick in the butt I needed. I had focused last month on all that I had considered a failure and I didn’t focus on what I have changed and what is good. So, we ate too much on our vacation to Hawaii. We also climbed Diamond Head and we weren’t even huffing and puffing when we got to the top.

So we went to DQ a few too many times in the hot summer? But we can also keep up with our current activities and feel awesome after!!

Baby Steps

What this means for next month is that we are going to work hard on the food. We are both at a place where the workouts are part of our routine, so we are going to start tracking our food and take the next baby step towards a much healthier life!

We did a lot of Just Dance Summer Party in September.

Goals for Month 4

Our goals for the next month:


  • Workout with Just Dance at least 3x/week
  • Run 3x/week (2 short runs and 1 long run)
  • Track all my food each day
  • Drink 8 glasses of water/day
  • Lose 5 lbs
