Mother & Daughter Just Dance To Get Fit; #JDDreamTeam Final
My daughter and I just finished our Just Dance Just Sweat Dream Team challenge today. We used Just Dance as part of a healthy lifestyle change this past summer. We will look at the goals we set back in May to measure how well we did.
First watch this video to find out how I think we did and the differences between a 13-year-old and a 45-year-old doing Just Dance.
Fourth Month Progress
We followed our goals each month, yet we didn’t quite accomplish what we wanted, but surpassed our goals in other ways. I don’t know if it was because our goals didn’t match what was possible for us or why.
I had hoped to lose 20 lbs total over the 4 months, but I lost 4 pounds. I did manage to keep those 4 pounds off through several trips including BlogHer and a trip to Hawaii. Both of those have added pounds in the past.
Because Sami is 13, we decided her focus would be to eat the right foods and get more exercise and not focusing on the pounds she loses. Throughout the summer, the Just Dance helped her keep up her dancing during her break from dance classes. She was not out of shape like some of her friends when classes resumed.
Once school started and she had dance every night, she did find it harder to get in 3 Just Dance sessions in a week. She would do Just Dance on her nights off.

Before & After Photos

Do I wish the progress was more noticeable in pictures? Yes, but to me…a lot of my progress is in my attitude and how I feel. For example, I’ve been working on blog posts all day so I’m sitting in my chair a lot today. I am feeling very anxious because I feel the need to get up and do some exercise. That is a new feeling for me. That is progress….
