Mother & Daughter Just Dance To Get Fit; #JDDreamTeam Kickoff
My daughter and I are kicking off our Just Dance Just Sweat Dream Team challenge this week. We will be using Just Dance as part of a healthy lifestyle change this summer.
Here is the video we submitted to Clever Girls Collective and Ubisoft:

Our Starting Point
Just Sweat Dream Team
Thank you to Ubisoft for picking me to be a member of the Just Sweat Dream Team and sponsoring this fitness series. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.
You must be a wonderful mother! 🙂 I like your plan, and I love your enthusiasm! You two are really a good example! 🙂
You are one cool mom i must say 🙂 its a great way to spend quality time with your daughter. Hope you have fun!
LOL! Not sure my kids would agree about me being the “cool mom,” but since my kids and I have a lot of the same interests…it’s fun to do them together.
My mom and I usually do this together at home and just follow the dvd for some zumba steps. It served as our bonding together as mom and daughter.
I touched on this briefly in an earlier comment, Michele, but this is a prime example of how video games are actively assisting men and women across the world to reconsider how they view exercise and to encourage a more active lifestyle.
I think it’s fantastic that you’re using modern technology to incorporate exercise and fitness into your lives in a more fun and casual way! Congratulations to the both of you and I can’t wait to read more! 🙂
thank you! I believe that technology gets a “bad rap” which is one of the main reasons for my blog. I want to show families how they can use technology to enhance their lives. Our kids will know no different so we need to show them how to control the technology in their lives rather than let it control them. I don’t believe that keeping them away from it is the answer. It will only make them want to use it more and probably not safely either.
Hooray & brickabracka fircracker-sis-boom-bah & all that good stuff to the both of you. I’m glad you’ve recognized that Sami’s dietary needs should not be tinkered with like those of us 40 somethings who are dieting. I sooooo remember being 13 because that was the year I went from wearing “girls” sizes (12-14) to a junior’s 8-10 like almost overnight. I also had boobs, not training bra stuff either, I’m talking friends’ mothers wishing they had ’em kinda’ boobs from the age of 12 & 4 months (which made 6th grade a living hell for me) & also had to start dealing with “my monthly bill.” Puberty is such a tricky time. I hope Sami stays with dance & keeps active because by the time I was 16, I was too cool to skate, too cool to dance & treated gym like the plague (my friends & I often had those too tight to even breathe sort of jeans on under our sweat pants & it must’ve looked totally bizarre when we tried to play basketball/tennis/flag football & I’m literally shaking my head & giggling remembering when we had to do a whole gym period of stuff like squat thrusts & jumping jacks. Being ill & dealing with awful joint damage (auto-immune disease issues) & just getting off of steroids after almost a decade on them made for my being parade float fat & luckily the weight is falling off of me with eating right & with pushing myself to do some recumbent bike & water aerobics. If I had insisted on keeping active, even with the water balloon like effects from steroids on my body, I wouldn’t be looking to lose to lose enough weight to be considered an extra person. I wish you the best of luck with the marathon & Sami the best of everything. It’s hard being a young teen & keeping active so root a little for me when she’s dancing.
I wish you all the best of luck in reaching the weight you desire! I will be waiting to hear more about the results.
This is awesome! Really looking forward to reading about your journey.
LOVE that you are doing this with your daughter. What an awesome example. Hope you rock it out!!!
LOVE This idea! I should get Just Dance – I hate the treadmill with a burning passion from deep within my soul! But Just Dance actually looks… dare I say.. FUN!
Good for you too!!! How fun.
