My #IHeartOmron Fitness Challenge Week 2 Update
I have been participating in the #IHeartOmron Fitness Ambassador Challenge. This past week I was still sick and I was not able to follow the full workout routine, but I have been tracking my activity with the Omron HJ-323U connected pedometer.
Usually when I’m sick, I don’t pay attention to my activity at all, but not this week. I found that having the Pedometer on would get me to move more. I started keeping the thermometer downstairs so that I had to go down to check my temp just so I could get more steps.
I lost 1.2 pounds during the week and I felt good that I was getting some easy walking in even though I was sick. It was also a change in my mindset. I usually don’t pay attention to activity level at all during the day whether I’m sick or not. This past week I was very aware of my activity and I know that will definitely help me when I’m feeling better.
This week I am going to slowly start increasing my activity each day and continue tracking with my pedometer. I’ll start with yoga and some easy weights and getting in a few 10 minutes walks throughout the day. If I’m tired and not feeling well, I’ll rest. I’m really anxious to get back to working out, but I also don’t want to do too much too quickly and end up sick again. This flu bug was not fun.

This pedometer sounds like a good fitness motivator. I will sit as my desk forever, but maybe if I had this item – I’d want to get up and move .. sort of like a game .. how many steps can I take today?

Glad you are feeling better, I am starting to think virus pass over the internet with how many sick sistas we have this week. Good luck this week and keep rocking those steps.
Glad to see you made it to the other side of the flu. I hope you are able to stay well!
