Give a Positive Toy with Go! Go! Sports Girl Doll

The toys get blingier (is that a real word) every year. While I’m the first one to buy my kids the latest techno toy, I also enjoy giving the simple toys especially if the doll promotes a healthy lifestyle. When I first saw the Go! Go! Sports Girl dolls, I knew it was something I wanted my girls to have.

Ella the Runner

For this review, I chose Ella, the running Go! Go! Sports Girl because I have started running the past few years. I have been encouraging my kids to run (or at least not be afraid of it).

There is a Go! Go! Sports Girl for dance, running, gymnastics, soccer, tennis, golf, swimming, softball and tennis with more to come. The dolls are made age appropriate for 3-12 yr old girls. There is an excellent note to parents showing how the Go! Go! Sports Girls promote a healthy lifestyle and positive self-esteem.

Go! Go! Sports Girls was started by Jodi Norgaard who has always been involved in sports and lived a healthy lifestyle. While working with girl in sports, she realized there was a need for a positive doll for girls to play with. That was why she created the Go! Go! Sports Girls. A portion of the earnings are donated to charities that support her mission.

Our Ella runner has become our motivation for running. This Spring I am going to run a 5k with my kids and Ella will run with us. My 6 year old daughter really loves Ella and we talk a lot about how we can be sure that Ella continues to be healthy and is active.

The Go! Go! Sports Girls have won 3 awards recently (Dr. Toys 10 Best Socially Responsible Products, PAL Award for promoting language development, and Nickelodeon’s Top Toys 2010) and was featured on the Today Show as a toy that lasts and keeps on giving.
