Finding The Right Motivation to Run With Fitness Gadgets #GiftsThatDo
Have you found the right motivation to run or walk or live a healthy lifestyle? What is it that will motivate you to want to live a healthy lifestyle?
As a tech gadget addict, I have found that any time I can find a tech way to do something, it makes the task a lot more fun, even running. Running sounds like a lot of work and kind of boring, but add the Apple iPod nano with Nike+ and THAT is exciting.
About 5 years ago, I decided I was going to get my family to live a healthier lifestyle. I knew that meant I had to make the changes first.
For months, I struggled with even the small ones. Motivating myself to move more and eat better wasn’t easy. That is until I found a tech solution.
Running, Tech Style
A friend showed me how he used the iPod nano with the Nike+ app to track all of his runs. He could look back at the past 5 years and see all of his runs with their ups and downs. Best of all, he could see how far he had come. I was hooked. I needed to run.
Now, 5 years later armed with my iPod nano and Yurbuds headphones, I not only run 3 times a week, but I ran my first half marathon last year.
Yes, I said half marathon. I went from hating running to completing a half marathon and it all started because I found my motivation! I am really proud of what I have accomplished.
Sharing the Motivation
My 8-year-old daughter is now running after school with Girls On The Run and I will be running with her as she completes her first 5k in 2 weeks.
Finding the motivation to run has taught me that if I want to do something, I need to find a tech way to do it and then it is fun for me, especially when it comes to exercising! Go Fitness Gadgets!!

Wow, the iPod nano with the Nike+ app comes off as a killer combo. And, if it can track all the runs, nothing like it. I realise after reading this, I got to do some running as well.
Thanks Michele for posting this. I now feel more motivated to run everyday.
Gadgets make our lives more beautiful and lively. I believe this also applies to those who love to exercise. Wearing some gadgets, will make the exercise even more enjoyable.
