Solving Your Home’s Poor Indoor Air Quality With Aprilaire Whole House Products

Knowing that you need to monitor the quality of your home’s air is the first step. Doing something about it is the next step. Aprilaire worked with a company in my area to have the products installed in my home.

Mannix HVAC came to my home for the initial consultation. He needed to see what heating and cooling systems we had in our home and what Aprilaire products would work best for our needs. We did a walk-through and discussed the concerns I had with the air quality in our home.

Aprilaire Whole-Home Products

We decided on the following for installation:

Whole-Home Dehumidifier – This will take the moisture out of the air in the summer so the air will feel more comfortable. I have asthma and when it is really humid, it makes it more difficult for me to breathe.

Whole-Home Humidifier – In the winter, when it’s very dry, this will put moisture into the air. This helps with dry skin, sore throats and the shocks you get when you touch something.

Air Purifier – This will filter the air that circulates throughout my house helping with pollen, dust, pet dander and more. I’m most excited about the air purifier since we have three cats, one dog and lots of allergies.

WiFi Thermostat – This is the control center of our home’s air. We connect to the thermostat with the Aprilaire app and we can control the temperature and humidity levels in our home (from anywhere in the world).

Aprilaire Installation

On the day of the install, they arrived around 8:30 am and were done by 1:00 pm. The install went very smoothly and before they left, they gave me a complete tutorial and walk-through of our new products.

Setting up the app was very easy. We have two thermostats in our house, so I had to set both up so I could control the temperatures on both. Next, I went to the Alexa app on my iPhone and add the Aprilaire skill. Alexa immediately found both of my thermostats and now I can control the temperatures in my house with my voice!

Now I say, Alexa, set bedroom master temperature to 73 degrees and it’s set. I love it!
