Rudolph’s Memories #Rudolph50 #Spon

Did you know that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is the longest-running and highest-rated holiday TV special of all time? That didn’t surprise me at all. This year is the 50th Anniversary of the original TV classic.
My Rudolph Memories
When I was younger, there were two things that signified the holiday season has begun. We put up our decorations and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was on TV. There were no DVD players or videos to buy, so everyone had to sit around the TV and watch it when it was on.
We would plan our activities around the show because we didn’t want to miss it. I remember sitting with my sister and parents watching it and every year I cried when the other reindeer wouldn’t let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games (I’ll bet you were singing that.)
The photo on the left is me at about age 3 1/2. The top right is my sister watching TV during the holiday season and the below right is my Grandmother reading a Christmas book to my little sister.
The 50th anniversary celebration is running with a social media campaign, #ShineBright, that celebrate the uniqueness along with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. We may not have called it bullying 30 years ago, but we all knew how Rudolph felt and no one wanted to feel that way.
