Planning a Family Staycation to Washington DC #HPFamilyTime #Ad
As the school year ends and summer is around the corner, I bet you are thinking about getting away with your family. I know I am after this long snowy winter. Often summers are busy too, but I’ll bet you can find a weekend for a family staycation. (Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I’m participating in an the #HPFamilyTime campaign.)
Planning a Family Staycation With the HP Pavilion x360
Since I live 20 miles outside of Washington DC, we have decided to start our summer with a weekend family staycation to Washington DC. It’s often the places we live closest to that we don’t visit. There is always another day. This summer will be that other day for us.
The HP Pavilion x360 is lightweight (21.9mm thin), but also powerful laptop.
I spent hours looking through all the Windows 8 apps and websites planning where we will stay.
Having a 360 degree hinge allows me to use the x360 in various places.
Whether you need a tablet or laptop, the x360 is it. And it weighs about 3 lbs, so carrying it around the house to show the rest of the family our plans was a breeze.
The x360 comes in Brilliant Red and Smoke Silver so my laptop is both functional and stunning. Red always turns heads!
Printing Family Staycation Plans with the HP ENVY 5530
A staycation should be organized. I like to have flexibility, but I’m also prepared. Before we leave on our staycation, I print travel confirmations, maps, directions and a list of places we want to see.
With the ENVY 5530 printer, I was able to print out documents from my x360 laptop and from my mobile phone. I was gone this past weekend with my girls at a dance competition and I was using my phone to check on some of the Smithsonian museums. I found some great information that I didn’t want to forget, so I sent it to my printer at home using ePrint. When I got home on Sunday night, the documents were waiting for me. That saved me the step of emailing the link to myself and printing when I got home.
Here is my Pinterest board where I was keeping pins I found for our staycation.
Now that I have all the planning done, we are taking our Washington DC family staycation in June. My kids are excited. They have been asking us to do this for a long time. Have you ever taken a staycation? Did you do a lot of planning before or just wing it?
