New Lenovo Products at CES 2014

New Lenovo Products at CES 2014Last week I went to Las Vegas for CES 2014. I saw the new Lenovo products and hear more about Lenovo. I will start my CES coverage with the new Lenovo products I saw at CES 2014. Disclosure: Lenovo paid for a portion of my CES trip.

New Lenovo Products at CES 2014

Lenovo took over the AquaKnox restaurant at the Venetian showcasing their newest products. Here are my favorites:

Lenovo ThinkPad 8

ThinkPad 8 at CES 2014The ThinkPad 8 tablet was my favorite new product Lenovo had at CES because of ONE really cool feature. See how the Quickshot Cover folds back to reveal the camera? The camera app opens when you do that too.

Lenovo ThinkPad 8The ThinkPad 8 is an 8.3 inch tablet with Windows 8.1 and an 8 hour battery life.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon

ThinkPad X1 CarbonThe ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a sleek-looking and extremely functional 14″ touch ultrabook. It weighs less than 3 lbs, .68 inches thick and has up to 9 hours of battery life. My favorite feature is the Adaptive Keyboard shown below. That means that instead of the usual function keys at the top, you will see keys that are relevant to the software or app you are using. If you using Skype, you won’t see F1, F2, etc, but instead volume and other keys that are useful for Skype.

Lenovo Horizon 2 Table PXI wrote about the first Horizon Table PC and now Lenovo has improved it. The new Horizon 2 is thinner, lighter and has a longer battery life than the original. You can easily send content from a phone (using an app) to the Aura by shaking the phone near the Horizon.

Lenovo BeaconThe Beacon Home Cloud Center is a storage device which allows you to get access to photos, videos, music and documents from various devices at the same time. You connect it directly to your TV with an HDMI cable and play any media files without a PC. You can insert two 3 TB (terabyte) hard drives for up to 6 TB of space. That is a TON of photos because 1 TB holds approx 250,000 4 MB photos.

Lenovo MiiX 2 10″ and 11″ Tablet/Laptop

Lenovo MiiX 2 tablet laptop

The MiiX 2 can be either a tablet tor a laptop depending on how you want to use it. It comes with Windows 8.1and a detachable keyboard. If you are watching movies, you may prefer the stand mode, but if you are writing a proposal, the laptop mode with the keyboard will be easier to use. The keyboard removes completely for tablet mode.

Lenovo MiiX 2 tabletThe MiiX 2 is available in the 10″ and 11″ version.

Yoga 2 and Yoga 2 pro

Yoga 2 ProI love my Yoga 11S and after seeing the new features of the Yoga 2 and Yoga 2 Pro, I’m in love again. The Yoga 2 is thinner, lighter and has a backlit keyboard. As you transition between the 4 modes, software will switch to adapt to the new mode.

lenovo-yoga-2-ces2014The Yoga 2 even comes with a concierge (ok..not really, but rather a concierge-like service) which recommends apps based on the mode you are using.

Lenovo N308 Android All-in-One Desktop

Lenovo N308 Android desktop

Lenovo announced an all-in-one desktop with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The Lenovo N308 has a 3-hour battery so you can take the monitor (or large tablet) and easily move it around the house or office.

More of my CES adventure to come.

Disclosure: I went to CES as part of the Lenovo Influencer program which means that Lenovo paid for my plane ticket and a portion of my hotel expenses. All opinions are 100% my own.
