HTC EVO Shift 4G Smartphone #Spon
The HTC EVO Shift smartphone definitely got my attention. You all know me as the iPhone addict, but I’m working on expanding my smartphone horizons. I do realize there are more smartphones out there and I’m willing to give them a try. I tried the HTC EVO out for 2 weeks and then sent it back.
The HTC EVO Shift 4G impressed me. Let’s take a look at the features that impressed me.
HTC EVO Shift Features
The HTC EVO Shift 4G is an Android 2.2 smartphone with a QWERTY slide-0ut keyboard, camera, built in hotspot and high-speed 4G WiMAX technology. The 5mp camera has flash and HD 720p video capture. It even includes a microSD card slot with a 2GB card included. That is one feature I really love. I’m a power smartphone camera and video user and more memory is always nice.
HTC EVO Shift Set-Up
The HTC EVO Shift is very easy to set-up. I just turned it on and followed the directions on the phone to set up Google and Facebook accounts. There were my contact, calendar and all my Facebook friends.
HTC EVO Shift Contacts
I absolutely love how everything is integrated with my contacts from texts, emails, calls and social networks. From the individual contact screen, i can see their status updates, Facebook and Flickr pictures, emails, texts, Tweets and past calls along with their usual address and phone number. Integrating all of my contacts information in one spot is a huge timesaver. Imagine you are thinking about calling a friend to see what they are doing for lunch, you go to your contacts, find their phone number. You notice that their Facebook update says “Heading to a lunch date with my hubby.” You know they won’t be available.
HTC EVO Shift Pictures and Video
My smartphone is also my camera and video recorder so the pictures and video quality are very important to me. Here is a sample picture I took with the HTC Shift. The quality of the picture is very good. (Ignore the messy desk.)
Here is a sample video I took with the HTC Shift and uploaded to YouTube.
The quality of the video from the HTC Shift is excellent for a smartphone video. It did well with the shifts from bright lights to lower light and the sound was good. The camera and video recorder pass this digital scrapbooker’s test.
HTC Shift 4G Review
The HTC EVO Shift is definitely a smart smartphone. The quality of the calls and media were excellent. I had to make a few adjustments to the settings to get better battery life, but that’s typical of all smartphones. The one design flaw that bugged me constantly was the location of the volume on the left side. I was constantly pushing it with my thumb while I was using the phone. The back button also was not very intuitive for me. I was always looking for it, although I’m sure you’d get used to that once you purchase the phone.
Disclosure: I received a the HTC EVO Shift to review for 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks, I sent it back. All opinions are 100% my own.
Let’s Talk HTC EVO Shift 4G!
Do you have the HTC EVO Shift? How do you like it? Are you planning to buy one?

I have an Android-powered HTC Aria with AT&T which is pretty much just like the Evo, just smaller and I love it!!! I think Sprint has the Eco if I am not mistaken and if we switched providers it would certainly be my choice! Mine doesn’t have a flash so that would be a nice step up from my current model. I am a long time HTC-girl 🙂 I’ve had the HTC PPC 6700, HTC PPC 6800, and the HTC Touch prior to getting my Aria!
