Do you prefer to learn by hearing about something or by seeing something in action? I’m sure most of you chose seeing. That is the concept behind the 3D Interactive Cards by Cypher Entertainment.
The augmented reality learning cards are for ages 3 and up. If your child is learning numbers and letters, they will love these. It’s a lot more fun than singing the alphabet song and that is also fun!!
So how do these funky learning cards work? First, you will need an iOS device (Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.)
Each box has a QR code, you scan the code to go directly to the App Store to download the correct app. I used my iPod Touch 5th Generation with the Wild Animal Adventures Cards. The animal cards were our favorite.
Then you take one of the cards out of the box
Turn the card over and lay the card flat on a desk or table, open the app and find the card you want to see in 3D. Put the camera lens near the card and watch it come to life in 3D.
The Wild Animal Adventures has to options. You can see (and hear) them in action in their habitat like the dolphin in the water above or you can see the full dolphin and rotate the card to see all sides of the animal like the photo below.
You can take a photo of the dolphin by clicking on the camera. Here is a photo I took.
I love that the dolphin looks so real. Just like he is floating on my desk. My 8 year-old daughter loves animals. She wants to be a Vet when she grows up (if dancing doesn’t work out) and she fell in love with the Wild Animals Adventures cards. She can learn so much about the animals and see and hear them. It’s almost as good as seeing them in person. Even at the zoo you can’t get that close to the animals.
Augmented Reality Video
Here is a video I created so you can hear and see what the cards do.
