How Can You Help?
P&G needs you to go to their Olay Facebook Page and sign the declaration, “Beauty by Example.” Declare your Mom a Beauty by Example.
My Declaration of Beauty by Example
I declared my Mom a Beauty by Example by uploading this picture.
This is a picture of my Mom and my niece taken last summer when my niece came to visit us after she graduated from high school. The most important thing in the world to my Mom is her family and that is so clear in this picture.
When I was growing up, I always knew that no matter how much I screwed up or how often I screwed up, my parents would always love me. The rest of the world could come crashing down on me, but my Mom would be there to pick me up. She had a way of helping us work through everything that came our way. She never fixed our problems for us, but she was always there for advice and sometimes to just listen.
My Mom, My Inspiration
I never realized how important that was until I had kids of my own. I never realized that my Mom had been able to give us the tools to leave home and not rely on her for everything, yet at the same time, we always knew that when we did need her, she wouldn’t judge, she would just be there to listen. That has definitely inspired me to try to do the same with my own kids.
This past week one of my own kids dealt with a difficult situation and I was so glad to see that he felt he could come and talk to me and while I didn’t make any decisions for him, we were able to work through the problem and everything turned out pretty good. I watched my son take the lessons I had taught him and work through a very difficult situation. Afterwards, when I was talking it through with my Mom, she said,
These are the moments where I feel like I have done a good job with my kids. It’s not he A’s on the report card or the awards. It’s when you see your children grow up, make decisions and work through difficult moments.
Being An Inspiration To My Kids
And of course, my goal is to inspire my kids to be able to become adult, leave my home and not need me, but I do hope that they choose to come to me because no matter what they do….I will always be here.

I actually try to be as good for my kids remembering my Mom. Never complain and say always I can do it!
I hope to inspire my son that no matter what hand life deals you, you have to keep your faith in God and work hard.
That’s a lovely pic. My mom passed away when I was 2. So I don’t remember anything of her. But I would say that no one can fill that position in your life. Happy Mother’s day everyone!!!
Awww, Jane. I think you are right. No one can replace your Mom, but hopefully you’ve had women in your life who have provided you with lots of inspiration.
I also thought that my mom will appreciate beauty products as a Mother’s Day gift. Thanks for these ideas, I wanted to surprise her with something special.
Love that pic of your mom! My mom is an inspiration to me, too. She seems to get things done effortlessly and is always, always generous to everyone around her.

My mom has inspired me by being the most honest person I know. She doesn’t talk about people, put them down or judge. She is pretty much up front with people.
