Kristi Yamaguchi’s Dream Big, Little Pig Encourages Children to Go For Gold #Spon
Kristi Yamaguchi, the Olympic Figure Skating Champion, debuted her children’s book, Dream Big, Little Pig! (Amazon affiliate link). As a child I wanted to be an ice skater (or gymnast) every 4 years after watching the graceful figure skaters on the ice. My girls now have dreams of being singers and dancers. [Hardcover] [2011] (Author) Kristi Yamaguchi, Tim Bowers[/amazon_image]Our childhood dreams are special. I think of mine very fondly even though I didn’t end up being a figure skater or a gymnast. But I still spent hours dreaming about it. I encourage my children to follow their dream big. I try to give them the tools to pursue the dreams. Sometimes you have to try a lot of different things before you find the one dream that is yours.
Dream Big, Little Pig!
Dream Big, Little Pig! is about Poppy, the pig with big dreams. She tries out many of her dreams with the support of her family and friends. She discovers that she isn’t always the best and that’s ok. She keeps trying until she finds a dream that she really excites her. She doesn’t care what anyone says, she knows this is her dream and she is going to dream big.
Kristi Yamaguchi
Kristi Yamaguchi is much like her book’s character, Poppy. Her motto “Always Dream” is the name of her charitable foundation for children in the San Francisco Bay area. As a mother of 2 young daughters, Kristi Yamaguchi knows how important it is for children to be able to dream big.
Dream Big, Little Girl!
I read Dream Big, Little Pig! to my 6 year old daughter today and asked her what she thought of the story. Her answer was, “Poppy seems like me. I have big dreams” and she really liked the sparkly pink cover. I see some pigs in our future!
Dream Big, Little Pig! is available starting today and retails for $16.99 in hardcover (It is under $10.00 at amazon). If you have young girls in your life who dream big, they will love this book. This 43 year old big dreamer enjoyed it too.

Let’s Talk about Dream Big, Little Pig!
Did you have any childhood dreams? Do you encourage your children to dream big? How do you balance the big dreams against reality?
Remember to Dream Big!
Great book, I had picked it up last week for my seven year old daughter to read and stumbled on your review 🙂
It is still one of our favorites and very appropriate now with the Olympics starting today.
