Each day, we have what I lovingly call the bewitching hour when my kids search for a tasty after school snack. They are starved and we still have 4 hours before we eat dinner. They really need a small meal, but they want something that tastes good too.

Enter José Olé Nacho Bites, a new and different twist on the ordinary nacho. José Olé refers to the bewitching hour as Olé O’Clock. I think I like that better and I plan to adopt it in my house. It sounds friendlier than the bewitching hour.

What is a José Olé Nacho Bite?

A Nacho Bite is similar to a nacho, but it’s been jazzed up to be an awesome tasty treat wrapped up in a little package. The crispy corn tortilla shell is folded in half and inside are chunks of chicken and melted cheese. They make perfect after school snacks because they are quick to make, tasty and the perfect portion size.

When you bite into the corn tortilla, you get a nice crunch followed by the taste of the melted cheese and chicken. It’s topped off with a spicy punch. Not too spicy, but just enough to give it a kick.

After School Snacks For Kids

On Monday, I put the Nacho Bites in the oven about 10 minutes before my kids were due home from school. When they walked in the door, this was the after school snacks I set out.

That is are busiest day and my daughter has to grab a kick bite to eat in 10 minutes before she heads to dance for 3 hours. My son also has Tae Kwon Do, so he needed to be sure he ate before he went and burned off all those calories punching and kicking.

The kids decided the Nacho Bites were a tastier after school snacks than the snacks they usually have. It was enough to fill them for a few hours, but it didn’t spoil their dinner. And they also make a great square (LOL!)
