As soon as temperatures reach 80 degrees, my family is looking for something cool and refreshing to sip, slurp, or savour. We love iced tea, lemon and limeades, but nothing beats a good popscicle.
During the warm months of late spring to early fall, we buy boxes and boxes of popscicles, and other cold treats. From time to time the kids like to make their own. We are a Kool-Aid kind of family, so you’ll most likely find them making Kool-Aid ice pops.
- Poor prepared Kool-Aid into ice trays
- Cover trays with plastic wrap
- Poke toothpicks into each cube, and freeze
Popsicles can be super simple to complex, with flavor profiles you’ve never imagined, and taste you’ll want to try again. With a little digging I found popsicle recipes to please a variety of palets, from kids to adults.
- A basic popsicle recipe
- Juice popsicle
- Yogurt popsicles
- A month of popsicles, including rice pudding, cucumber mint, and hibuscus
- Avocado popsicles
- Margarita popsicles
Stay cool, and enjoy!
