It was a really REALLY short trip. We got up at 5am on the east coast to fly to LA. We arrived in LA at 11:30 am and went to our hotel, SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.

We headed straight for the rooftop pool for a few hours of fun before the Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck concert.

So then everyone had to try…

Finally everyone was ready and we headed down to meet our car…..to the Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck concert. YAY!!!

And after a long 1.5 hour drive to the House of Blues at Downtown Disney, we finally got to the Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck concert.

We sat up high in the balcony, so my pictures aren’t that great. My camera would not turn on (I had 2 fully charged batteries too…ARGH!) I had to take pictures of the Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck concert with my iPhone.

The really cool part about the concert being filmed for a Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck is that it’ll be an awesome way for us to remember the concert. The Wal-Mart Soundcheck can be downloaded as an iPhone/iPad app too. The kids really enjoyed watching him sing and my girls loved all the dancing since they are both in Hip Hop dance.

But the concert was finally over and they were going to get to meet Cody Simpson in person.

Sami talked to him a bit as the meet & greet was starting before he got ushered off. This was the highlight of her night.

Megan said he was “squishy and soft,” which she later informed us that it meant he was very “huggable.”

Nicky was a little embarrassed since Cody is a guy, but as you can see…Cody understood that and made this a cool guy pic.

And Sami saw that Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun was at the concert too.

By this time it was almost 10:30 pm and we were all tired having been up since 2:00 am LA time. We have to wait to get our signed posters from the Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck.

It was an awesome trip and one my kids will never forget. Now we can’t wait for the Cody Simpson Wal-Mart Soundcheck app to come out so we can see it again.

I am taking 3 of my 4 kids. My 12 & 7-year-old daughters and my 8-year-old son. My 15-year-old son has some school stuff so he is staying home.

We will be flying to LA in the morning next Tuesday. We will spend the day in Beverly Hills shopping and hanging out at the pool. That evening, we will head to a private concert. We will have a Meet & Greet so my kids will get to meet him. Then we will fly home the next morning.

A very quick trip, but an exciting one. I am really excited for my kids. This would be like me getting to meet Rick Springfield in my day. This is a trip they will always remember.

We will have lots of video and pictures I’m sure so I’ll share when we get back.

This was definitely all Miley…No Hannah Montana! She has grown up and her songs and concert show that. I’m not afraid to admit that I really like Miley’s songs. Yes, I’m a 42 yr old who listens to Miley Cyrus because I enjoy her songs.

Last night she told us she wasn’t feeling well and as a Mom, I think she had that “sick” look on her face, but my girls couldn’t tell the difference. If that is her show when she’s sick? Then her well show must be over the top.

The show opened with Metro Station. The lead singer from the band is Trace Cyrus who is Miley’s older brother (and guitarist is Mason Musso, Mitchell Musso’s older brother). I completely understand why he got this gig. The band isn’t bad and heck, we all help family. BUT, he does not need to tell us about 20 times that he is Miley’s older brother. We get that. Please WOW us with your music, not your family relationships.

The concert started right on time at 7pm. Metro Station came out and played for about 30 min. We missed the Shake It song which is the one song I know from them because we decided to hit the bathrooms before the break and Miley came out. She came out around 8:30 and played til 9:30 including one encore. It was a short concert. I don’t know if I’m used to longer concerts or if it was because she wasn’t feeling well, but it did feel like there should have been a few more songs.

I’m not going to go through all the songs one by one, but rather just say that she has a beautiful voice, she knows how to put on a show and it was one of the most entertaining concerts I’ve ever seen. Heck, she flew over the audience on a motorcycle!

I put together a short Animoto show of the pictures I took. I couldn’t use one of Miley’s songs since I don’t have permission, so I found one that fit my mood.

And I guess if it was good enough for the First Lady and First Daughters, then it was good enough for this Tech Goddess and her Tech Princesses.

I am taking my oldest son (12 yrs), my oldest daugther (9 yrs) and her best friend. For my kids it is their first concert so I’m excited to see them experience this. I remember my first concert, although it was really my parent’s concert. It was John Denver. My first concert that was for me was Rick Springfield. He will always hold a special place in my heart since he was my first! (wink wink) That is how my daughter will feel about Nick (her favorite Jonas brother).

And to put me in the spirit of the concert, I’ve been listening to the Jonas Brothers on iTunes this morning. Here is my favorite Jonas Brothers song right now (and I just love the video too):

Tomorrow I will add some of the pictures we take. I’m sure they will look tiny, but for my 9 yr old it will be perfect.
