I had the opportunity to meet and interview Stacy Julian from Big Picture Scrapbooking this past February at the Mom 2.0 Summit in Houston, Texas. Stacy has been an idol of mine ever since she gave me permission to scrap outside of the box.
Simple Scrapbooks
For years I was told I needed to scrap current events in chronological order and I felt I needed a graphic design degree in order to remember all the “rules” of scrapbooking design. Stacy Julian didn’t like those rules and instead of trying to conform, she solved the problem and created Simple Scrapbooks, a magazine built around the concept of scrapbooking simply.
Library of Memories
Stacy’s philosophy for scrapbooking is about telling stories, showing relationships and celebrating moments. She has created an entire new system of organizing and storing our pictures and layouts. Through that process, she shows us a new way of looking at our pictures, thus scrapbooking pages out of order and showcasing stories.
Stacy’s teaches her Library of Memories workshop at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I have taken the class several times and each time I get further into the system and get more excited about telling my stories. The last session of Library of Memories taught us how to adapt her system to our digital pictures.
Stacy Julian Interview
During our interview, I asked Stacy Julian about pursuing our dreams, social media and scrapbooking and how digital scrapbooking has or hasn’t changed the Big Picture Scrapbooking classes. The lighting in the hotel was not the best, so the quality of the video is not great, however, the audio is great so you can hear Stacy’s responses perfectly.

Stacy has always inspired me to find new ways of scrapbooking. She has a zest for life that spreads quickly to those around her. Thank you Stacy for taking the time for this inteview. I also wanted to thank Kayce for all the work that she does at Big Picture Scrapbooking behind the scenes. If you have not had a chance to check out Big Picture Scrapbooking, head over there now. The classes are awesome.
Let’s Talk!
