Hey Michele,
This book seems to be a nice one with the excerpt. It has inspired something in me, so I am surely going to read it soon. Thanks for the review, you provided me with a good book.
Confession…I’m a self-help book junkie. I love reading about all the different theories, the author’s stories and applying the things that I find fit into my life. One of my favorite topics is self-love, so the new book, Madly In Love With Me by Christine Arylo fascinated me.
I received the pdf of the book for this review and I have been reading it the last week. I’m about halfway through the book and I’m finding so much that I relate to. I love when I feel like the author is talking directly to me. I like to read a chapter and then let it simmer for a bit. She always has the best quotes, stories and examples.
One thing she wrote about that really hit home with me because I have 2 daughters was when she talks about how we would respond to a young child asking her mother if loving herself is a good thing. It’s such a simple and obvious answer. Of course it is, but it is one of the hardest things to do often.
If a friend treated us the way we treat ourselves, we wouldn’t be friends with them anymore, yet we allow the hurtful thoughts to go on in our head. While we should be our own best friend, we are often our own worst enemy.
Christine’s book, Madly In Love With Me is a must read for all women. I have a 13-year-old daughter and I’m not sure she is ready to read it, but I do plan to talk to her about a lot of the topics and in a few years have her read it.
If you are a young women or a mom, this book will help you take a close look at how to learn to love yourself and why it is so important to love yourself. It will help you help other women or your daughters learn to love themselves.
You can read an excerpt of Madly In Love With Me on Scribd.
Disclsoure: I received a copy of the Madly In Love With Me book to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Every week, I will send out a newsletter with information that isn't on my blog (and what you may have missed on the blog). You don't want to miss out!
