Online Reputation Management for Dummies Book Review
How often have you Googled someone before you met them in person for the first time? Our online reputation often precedes us. It is so important, but many people do not know how to manage it. You do not want to leave your reputation up to others.
The Online Reputation Management for Dummies book by Lori Randall Stradtman will show you in plain english how to manage what others see about you online.
Online Reputation Management for Dummies
Online Reputation Management for Dummies is broken down to 6 parts.
Part 1 starts out by showing you what your online reputation is and how to plan to manage it.
Part 2 explains how to put together a team to help you manage your online reputation. This section is geared more for companies or people who can afford to hire others to help, but there is good information that is pertinent to anyone.
Part 3, Listening is Love, shows you the tools you will use to manage your online reputation. She also explains how to set up those tools. There is a really good chapter called, “Researching Your SEO Keywords,” and I learned a lot in this chapter. This is a must read chapter!
Part 4 goes through establishing your reputation. She gives shows you how to give your brand a voice and use the online tools to establish your reputation. Chapter 13 goes through using visuals in managing your online reputation. This is an important chapter now that the internet is becoming very visual.
Part 5 is one that we need to know, but hope we never need, dealing with a crisis. It’s better to learn how to handle the crisis before you are in a crisis.
Part 6 is the Part of Tens that you find in all for Dummies books. A lot of awesome ideas in this last chapter.
Overall, I felt the book was geared more towards companies or large brands, but there were so many ideas that anyone can use whether a company or person. Definitely worth a read for anyone who is online.
Disclosure: I received the Online Reputation Management for Dummies book in exchange for this review. All opinions are 100% my own.
