I joined in the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans challenge to lose weight. This was the first week and I didn’t do so well. I gained 2 lbs. I exercised like crazy, but I did not track my food. I do not know why. I always track my food, but for some reason I felt I was above that this week. Stupid, I know. But as of today, I am tracking again. I was also down 1 lb on Sunday, so I’m really PO’d because I feel like I gained 3lbs. I feel like I let down my team too which is the worst part. Don’t worry Turquoise…I promise to get back on track this week with my food tracking.
Enough excuses, enough said….Now, Michele, Just DO IT!

That's a good point! I probably need to be sure I'm eating enough protein too.

you gained muscle! muscle weighs more than fat and you may be retaining water….

Thanks Fiona!!! I think that may be the case because 2 days later I'm back down the 2 lbs. But it sure is depressing to see a 2lb gain. It's supposed to be going the other way.

As far as you getting too big for the jeans(concerning the previous poster): I have washed and accidentally dried brand name pants (not jeans) that I got from a church sale.

When I first start exercising I ALWAYS gain a couple of kilos/pounds first because I tend to do a rather quick fat to muscle conversion, then I plateau at the new larger weight (horrors) and then start losing, very slowly but very surely. Of late, I have gotten bored of the deprivation – the recession makes me feel deprived already and am accordingly all about replacement food therapy. Instead of chocolate, I have half a tsp of peanut butter, instead of ice cream, yoghurt, wholewheat pasta instead of normal and the same with bread and rice. Combined with regular albeit very careful exercise, my self invented program has helped me to lose 10lbs in the last two months.
