I received two of Bob Harper’s supplements to try out for myself. I tried the Smart 7-Day Cleanse and the Smart Weight Loss formulas. I was really curious about a supplement from America’s favorite celebrity trainer, Bob Harper.

Smart 7-Day Cleanse

Honestly, I was really worried about starting Bob Harper’s Smart 7-Day Cleanse, but I tried it and was pleasantly surprised. Without getting too graphic, let’s say I was cleansed without any pain. It was a gentle cleanse on my system.

According to the website,

it works with your body’s natural elimination process so you can gently flush out waste from your system.

I agree with that statement. The cleanse is also gluten, dairy & lactose-free. The key ingredient is Senna.

Smart Weight Loss

After the 7-Day Cleanse, I waited a week and started on Bob Harper’s Smart Weight Loss supplements. I used Bob Harper’s supplements for a month and I did lose 3 pounds during that month. That may not sound like a lot, but since I had my total hysterectomy, I have not been able to lose much weight at all. I can’t be sure if the Weight Loss supplements helped because I did start working out and tracked all my food.

The Smart Weight Loss supplements are also gluten, dairy and lactose-free.  Whenever I start a weight loss plan, I take supplements to be sure I’m giving my body everything it needs. Bob Harper’s supplements were an important part of my total weight loss plan.

As with anything, check with your doctor before taking any supplements. I checked to be sure Bob Harper’s supplements would mess with my prescription medications I’m currently taking.

I had the perfect “ME Time” date planned out. My kids all had plans and I was going to be alone with my magazines, a little DVR catch-up and an awesome (easy to prepare) meal.

Then, I got sick! Boooo!

To prepare the soup, I opened the bag, poured it into a microwave-safe dish and put it in the microwave for 12 minutes (stirring halfway through.) While my soup was in the microwave, I brought my magazines and a wheat roll up to my bedroom. I was going to be sure there were no interruptions so I was hiding away.

Twelve minutes later I had this awesome soup…

This meal tasted so good. When I was a kid, I remember my mom making chicken noodle soup in the winter and this is the first soup that brought back those memories. It had a lot of flavor and I could see the spices in every spoonful. The noodles and veggies were crisp and not soggy at all.

I added a warm wheat roll and dipped that into the chicken broth. YUMMY! I was feeling pretty miserable that evening, but the Bertolli Chicken & Rotini Meal Soup definitely hit the spot. Even though I was sick, within 30 minutes I had a hot soup and was snuggled in my bed with my favorite magazines and relaxing so I can get better.

My 3 Me Time Tips:

1. Make it simple.
2. Be ready at any time.
3. Be sure to get some “me” time at least every week.

You all know I’m working on Project Balance in 2012. During the year, I will focus each month on a different life area and spend the year working on goals that I’m setting now. The biggest resolution for 2012 is to get my body back in shape. Due to my health issues, I’ve let it all slide and I’m ready to get back in shape.

Trop50 True Resolutions

Here are my plans:

• Lose 40 lbs by focusing on losing 5 lbs each month. That is a very reasonable goal and I will look at each month as a separate goal. 40 sounds like such a big number. 5 is so much better!
• Run 2 half marathons. I did accomplish my goal last year of completing a half marathon. This year I am going to finish the first one is less than 3 hours and the second one in less than 2:45. My daughter has also decided she wants to run with me, but that is another post.

Tired of Being Tired

I had the opportunity to try the Tired of Being Tired package which includes:

Skullcandy Sound

Not only are the Skullcandy earbuds the best headphones for running, but they also sound really good. I use the Skullcandy In-Ear Buds even when I’m not running because I like the sound I get.

I tried the Skullcandy FIX headphones in both the bud style seen in the blue/black above and the in-ear bud style shown in the red above. My personal preference was the in-ear bud style because I have small ears and I could change the size of the piece that goes into my ear.

Headphones For Running

I always run with my iPhone because it has all my music, my running apps and for safety, I have a phone with me. It would be really hard to answer the phone or make a call if I didn’t use the microphone style headphones for running.

I tried all three flavors and the Teaberry was my favorite. I did not care for the Tropic at all and the Citron, I thought was ok, but not my favorite.

Have you ever seen a shoe like this? That part of the heel that looks very different is removable and comes with both a hard and soft version. The soft chip is for harder surfaces like concrete and the hard chip would give more stability for a trail walk.

At first I had a hard time removing the heel piece in the replaceable cushion footwear because I thought the bottom was replaceable. The only part that is replaceable is the white part of the heel and it is so easy to remove. Pull the black part back and pull the white piece out and replace. Striiv (affiliate link) is a personal trainer in your pocket and will change the way you view fitness. I had the opportunity to see a demo of Striiv at the Zebra/Blogging Angels Breakfast at BlogHer and I was blown away. I can’t even describe it and do Striiv justice, so go ahead and watch the Striiv video.

Striiv in Action

How awesome is it to be more active and help a charity at the same time. I think the game aspect of the Striiv is a great motivator also. I know that I tend to be more active when I am tracking my activity.

Now that I have the Striiv and have had a chance to try it out, it is a lot of fun and the competition definitely keeps you moving. I have had some issues with the Striiv staying on my pants. I do not wear a belt and I wear mostly leggings. The Striive is bigger than your average pedometer and is always falling off my pants. You can use it in your purse or pocket also which helps when I have my purse or pockets.

But I love knowing that if I am more active with Striiv, I will not only be helping myself, but also others.
