Power Your Summertime, Summertime, Sum, Sum, Summertime…

I LOVE SUMMER! Now, don’t get me wrong, as I’ve said before, I am not an outdoorsy, camping, summer loving kind of gal. I am the sitting on the beach with my iPad, iPhone, iPod, camera, camcorder kinda summer loving geek gal. Wisconsin has Beaches

I grew up in Wisconsin and I know most of you do not think of the beach when you think of Wisconsin. Wisconsin is bordered by Lake Michigan to the East and as far as I’m concerned, it might as well be the ocean. You can not see across the lake, it has a great beach with sand and has high and low tides.

Having the beach close by was our reward for the long winters. Milwaukee had a festival down by the lakefront every weekend during the summer. We would be cooped up in the house all winter long and when summer came, we would head to the lakefront and party!! I miss those festivals. I’ve noticed that in the climates where the winters are not as long, they do not seem to celebrate summer with such a passion. They know without a doubt that no matter how cold it gets, warm weather is just around the corner. In Wisconsin, we weren’t so sure, so we took advantage of every warm moment with a festival.

I live in Northern Virginia now, but that “get out and party all summer” feeling is still in my blood. I feel happy and content in the summer. Put me on a beach and I’m happy. Add a few gadgets and this geek is in paradise.

But of course all those gadgets need POWER…
