Date nights with my husband are far and few between, that is, unless you can call a dinner with 4 kids a date night.
It’s been a while since we’ve had one and most weekends we are just too tired to go out, so I’m going to plan a surprise cheap date night for this Saturday night. You can plan a cheap date night with your significant other (or your kids if you want) for this Saturday night too. The best part is that it won’t cost you too much either.
My Date Night Recipe
- Movie from Blockbuster Express for $1.00 (and I have a great coupon code for you and you can get one free when you rent one…see the end of the post for details)
- Box of low-fat microwave popcorn $4.00
- Spray butter $3.00 (optional)
- Cheese flavored shake on topping $3.00 (optional)
- Bottle of Wine – Your favorite cheap brand $10
1. First rent the Blockbuster Express movie by going to the website and reserving your favorite movie. Go to nearest Blockbuster Express kiosk and pick up your movie. Head to grocery store and pick up popcorn, spray butter, cheese flavored topping and bottle of wine. Drive home!
2. Chill wine if needed. Put kids to bed early. Pop microwave popcorn. Spray generously with spray butter and shake cheese flavored topping over popcorn. Open your bottle of wine. Pour 2 glasses. Put your 1st movie in, get comfortable and enjoy the popcorn and wine.
3. Repeat above with second movie.
Total cost: Approx $22.00
Calories: who cares?
Memories: Priceless
