or better known as Back to School! This is the first time in 14 years that I have all 4 kids in school full time. I’m not sure what I will do with myself for 7 hours every day. Today I ran and no one called me to say, “she hit me” or “can I have a snack?” It was wonderful!!
I really really REALLY enjoy summer. I love the lazy days, the lack of a schedule, going to the pool, the beach, sleeping in…. But I also really really REALLY love when they go back to school. It’s not that I don’t like to be with my kids, but we all crave the structure of the day sometime mid-August.
My oldest is starting high school today.

My 2nd is starting middle school.
My 3rd is in second grade…
and my baby is in first grade.
It’s a year of transitions for us all. I was very surprised at how smooth the morning went. No tears (even from me, although I did get a bit choked up when my oldest left for high school, but mostly because it seemed like just yesterday that I was in high school).
So, how did your summer go? Are you happy to have the kids back at school? Did you send your firstborn or your baby off to school for the first time? Any tears? Spill the beans. I want to hear it all.

Only one of mine has gone back so far and he seems thrilled to be there. We hit a point about a week ago where they were both begging to start school. My younger one doesn’t start until next week and he’s cranky that he has to wait.

Ok, so I totally didn't cry – I'm sad summer is over, wasn't ready to go back but I'm alone every day all day for the first time in 10 years… and I'm ok with that. My kids are happy and we are all good with it. it's all good. love it.
