Xia-Xia Pets, from the makers of Zhu Zhu pets and DaGeDar, are imaginative toy hermit crabs with interchangeable shells and playsets. There are 4 Crabs named Bimini, Turks, Trinidad and Tobago, 12 shells and 3 playsets. The kids enjoyed trying the different shells on the different Xia-Xia Pets.

I have both boys and girls, so I was glad to see that the colors were perfect for splitting between both boys and girls. Here are some of the Xia-Xia Pets that are currently available:
Tobago is always dancing to the Xia-Xia samba. My son's favorite.
Turks is sweet & bubbly. My daughter's favorite Xia-Xia Pet.

The kids liked the Trio Village the best because it was the biggest, but they had fun trading Xia-Xia Pets playsets and shells. They created a fashion show with all the different shells and the friends that come with the shells were the audience. I love that every time they sit down to play with their Xia-Xia Pets, they create a new toy. I think the bright colors really capture their interest and spark their imagination.
This shell is my daughter's favorite.
The Xia-Xia pets come from an island far away where they like to dance the samba and play. The little friends fit inside the Xia-Xia Pets shell.
This is my son's favorite Xia-Xia Pets shell.
My kids are 7 & 8 and they were able to put all the sets together themselves (best part.) They wanted to fill my bathtub with water for the ocean and have the shells play in the ocean and then relax in the Cabanas afterwards.
My son is looking at the set put together and says, "these are so cool."

just arriving in the UK the Xia Xia hermit Crabs and their playsets are sure to be the next big thing – probably into 2012 before they properly take off here – can understand why they are so popular with kids.
