EA Sports Active, interactive fitness productEA SPORTS Active is expanding it’s line of interactive fitness products. Not only will the EA SPORTS Active be available for the Wii, but also the Playstation 3, iPhone and iTouch. We will never be to far away to workout.

As many of you know, I was a 6 week challenger for the EA SPORTS Active More Workouts. One of the reasons, I love this product has a lot to do with the interaction EA SPORTS has with it’s customers. They listen to us, they talk with us, they support us, they motivate us. It’s quite obvious with this new 2.0 (working title) version of EA SPORTS Active, that they have been listening to their customers.

According to the EA SPORTS Active blog,

… the new fitness program will feature a wireless control system which will make it that much easier to get a great workout.

There will be leg and arm straps with motion sensors along with a heart rate monitor.

EA SPORTS Active Challenge 2.0 style

With any fitness product, I want to be challenged, supported, motivated and heard. The 2.0 version will include a 3 phase 9 week challenge along with an online community where we will track and share our fitness data. We will be able to support and motivate each other with workout groups and messaging. New workouts will be available for download to keep our workouts new and exciting. The EA SPORTS Active online hub will be the “one stop shop” for all our fitness needs.

I am so excited about this new version, although we won’t be able to get our hands on it until this Fall. EA SPORTS Active is keeping this geek fit and healthy. I have been the most successful in my healthy lifestyle efforts when I’ve had a support system and EA SPORTS Active 2.0 has added that key element to their interactive fitness product.

If you go to the EA SPORTS Active website, there is picture of the wireless arm/leg bands.

Have you tried either of the EA SPORTS Active Personal Trainer or More Workouts? Will you buy the new 2.0 version?

disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I wrote it because I am SUPER excited about this new 2.0 version and I’m sharing my joy!

Giveaway: zpizza, Healthy and Yummy! What a Combo!

I know you are probably thinking that there is a typo up there in the title somewhere. I must have left out a NOT somewhere? Nope! Have you ever tried zpizza? I was really reluctant to try it at first. My neighbors had all told me that I needed to try this healthy pizza, but I didn’t want to spoil pizza for me forever.

Let me go back a few years and explain something about me and pizza. I LOVE pizza, but I have this really sensitive stomach that doesn’t agree with me that pizza is a necessity in life and not a luxury. Whenever I eat pizza, I pay for it for days. I won’t get into the nitty gritty, but just trust me in saying that it isn’t pleasant. So I don’t get to eat pizza very often. My neighbor told me about zpizza and said I should try this because they use all natural ingredients and maybe it won’t bother my stomach.

So, I finally gave in and tried it. WOW! It really did taste good and guess what? My stomach didn’t bother me. It tasted like real pizza too (and I didn’t have to make it myself…best part). They have so many different varieties of pizza also. Some things I’ve never heard of before like Thai pizza, Berkeley Vegan pizza or Casablanca pizza. And if you aren’t really into pizza (WHAT?) a variety of salads, sandwiches and pasta.

zpizza was nice enough to offer one of my readers $20 in gift certificates to try zpizza. Check out the locations to see if there is a zpizza near you. (U.S. only)

Then follow my blog using the Google Friend Connect in right sideabar. Leave me a comment after you’ve done that. That’s it! Now you are in the running for the $20 gift certificates to zpizza.

For an extra entry:  Join the ztribe at zpizza (you will get a $5 coupon once you sign up) and leave a comment once you have completed that task.

Contest ends February 26 at 11:59 pm ET. I will choose one random winner.

Good Luck! If you’ve tried zpizza, let me know how you like it.

disclosure: I was offered $20 for the review, however, I chose to give the $20 gift certificates to my readers since i had an experience with zpizza previously and I could write from the heart about my previous zpizza purchases (that I purchased with my own money). All opinions are my own.I received NO money for this review.

EA Sports Active 6 Week Challenge Completed

  • Google Buzz

EA Sports Active More Workouts BoxThis past week I completed my 6 week challenge with the EA Sports Active More Workouts fitness product for the Wii. The challenge began the week before Thanksgiving and ran through New Year’s Eve. Talk about a challenge!! Last year during that same time period, I gained 10 lbs. This year in spite of 3 holidays, a trip with my husband, several holiday parties, lots of holiday cookies and a crazy chaotic schedule, I lost 6 lbs and 5.5 inches over the holidays. It was definitely due to the 6 week challenge. I am so excited and thrilled with the results I got.

I worked out at least 4 times per week and I watched what I was eating. I did not diet and I did not deprive myself when I was at parties or traveling. I really didn’t think it was possible to lose weight during the holidays and not feel deprived. I proved to myself that it is possible. Losing weight is always great, but I noticed a lot of other benefits from the 6 week challenge:

  • I slept much better and I didn’t wake up feeling tired.
  • Felt more energetic.
  • My clothes fit much better.
  • I wasn’t as hungry all the time and I craved more healthy foods.
  • My family was more active this holiday season than in the past.

My final vlog post for my EA SPORTS Active 6 week challenge:

Now that the New Year is upon us, I am starting my 2nd round of the 6 week challenge and I am going to track all the foods that I eat and keep my calorie intake to no more than 1500 each day. I know with that combination, I’ll be back down to my desired weight in no time.

How did your 6 week challenge go? Tell me all about it!!

Create Your Plan of Action for 2010 (Part 5 of Intention Series)

  • Google Buzz
Post-its

If you are following along, you read about my dislike of resolutions and my plan to create my 2010 Intentions.

1. Write out your 2010 intentions
2. Pick one word to summarize your intentions
3. Create a visual of your word and intentions

4. Create your plan of action for 2010

We now have intentions, a word and a visualization, but how are you going to achieve this in 2010? In my earlier analogy, I equate this to planning a trip. We have chosen the destination (our word and intentions), but now now we need to plan how we will get there.

Start With the End

Begin with your end goal. Where do you want to be in December of 2010 and break that into smaller goals. For example, one of my intentions is to lose 15 lbs and live a healthier lifestyle. In Deemeber of 2010, I’d like to be 15 lbs lighter and eating healthier, exercising consistently, doing yoga and taking time reguarly for myself. I’ll break this down into 4 smaller goals:

  • Lose 15 lbs
  • Eat healthier foods
  • Regular exericse routine including yoga
  • Take more time for myself

Instead of focusing on all 4 at the same time, my plan of action will be to focus on each of these smaller goals. If I begin by losing 15 lbs, I will then focus on my eating, my exercise and taking time for myself. My intent is that as I focus on each smaller goal, it will become habit and part of my life. I won’t just forget the past goals, but instead I’m building on each previous small goal which equals my larger goal of living a healthier lifestyle in 2010.

Set Several Deadlines Throughout the Year

It takes at least 28 days to form a habit, so when you are setting your smaller goals, be sure to spend at least 1 month forming the new habits. I have broken my larger intention into 4 smaller intentions so I will spend each quarter focusing on the smaller actions plans and building up to my larger one.

  • Lose 15 lb by March 31, 2010
  • Focus on including healthier foods (veggies, fruits, whole grains, lean meat) into my diet. Eat out less. Drink 8-8oz glasses of water/day. April – June 2010
  • Focus on setting regular exercise routine including yoga, cardio and strength workouts. July – September 2010
  • Focus on taking more time out of my day for me. October – December 2010

This action plan looks more doable than the lofty intention of just being healthier in 2010. Break down each of your intentions into smaller more manageable action plans. If you are having a hard time coming up with actionable items, just start writing down anything that comes to mind when you think about that intention. Put each item on separate post it notes. Sometimes a visualization of each item helps put it into perspective.

Here are some links with ideas on creating action plans:

Suite 101 Action Plan Ideas

Effective Action Plan

Action Focused Goal Setting

My Action Plan

Here is my action plan for the other two intentions I have set.

1. Lose 15 lbs and get back to my healthy lifestyle of eating right, exercising reguarly and taking time for myself.

Lose 15 lb by March 31, 2010
Focus on including healthier foods (veggies, fruits, whole grains, lean meat) into my diet. Eat out less. Drink 8-8oz glasses of water/day. April – June 2010
Focus on setting regular exercise routine including yoga, cardio and strength workouts. July – September 2010
Focus on taking more time out of my day for me. October – December 2010

2. Declutter my life. Get rid of all the stuff that has accumulated in my home, body, head, etc.

I will focus on a different section to declutter each month for the first 3 weeks of the month. The last week of the month will be set aside to be sure past areas stay decluttered.

3. Continue to grow my community around my blog and business.

First Quarter – Planning and finishing business side of blog
Second Quarter – Newsletter
Third Quarter – ebook
Fourth Quarter – podcast

Now I have a plan of action for my intentions in 2010, a word to keep me focused throughout the year, a visualization of my intentions. Sound complete? Not quite yet. Tomorrow we will talk about staying on track, evaluating your progress and what to do if you fall off course.

Have you set an action plan for your 2010 intentions?
