Window to my Digital Soul

or bet­ter known as Back to School! This is the first time in 14 years that I have all 4 kids in school full time. I’m not sure what I will do with myself for 7 hours every day. Today I ran and no one called me to say, “she hit me” or “can I have a snack?” It was wonderful!!

I really really REALLY enjoy sum­mer. I love the lazy days, the lack of a sched­ule, going to the pool, the beach, sleep­ing in.… But I also really really REALLY love when they go back to school. It’s not that I don’t like to be with my kids, but we all crave the struc­ture of the day some­time mid-August.

My old­est is start­ing high school today.

2010 Fresh­man

My 2nd is start­ing mid­dle school.

My 3rd is in sec­ond grade…

and my baby is in first grade.

It’s a year of tran­si­tions for us all. I was very sur­prised at how smooth the morn­ing went. No tears (even from me, although I did get a bit choked up when my old­est left for high school, but mostly because it seemed like just yes­ter­day that I was in high school).

So, how did your sum­mer go? Are you happy to have the kids back at school? Did you send your first­born or your baby off to school for the first time? Any tears? Spill the beans. I want to hear it all.
