Vote for Your Favorite Super Bowl Ad

Super Bowl 44

Forbes has created this Super Bowl Ad Viewer which anyone can embed on their site. You can watch and vote on your favorites. I’m not a real big football fan unless the Packers are playing, but I do watch the Super Bowl every year JUST for the commercials. It’s the one time I’d like to fast forward through the show.

You must have Adobe Flash Player 9
or higher installed to view this content

Did you watch the Super Bowl?

What did you think about the ads overall? Which was your favorite? and least favorite?

I’ll post my answers to these questions tomorrow.

The Biggest Snowstorm of My Life (aka Snowmageddon) in Video

Snowmageddon 2010 is now over and the clean up has begun. I took video every few hours during the storm and here is the shortened version of the 36 inches of snow in 30 hours…

Before they storm the media was preparing us for the worst, but I think I would have been scared if I saw this guy BEFORE the storm.

Did you get any of Snowmageddon at your house? What is the largest snowstorm that you have ever been through? This was it for me.

Snowmageddon 2010 has Started in the DC Area, Day 2

6:00 pm ET – Guess what?! It’s NOT snowing anymore. YEAH!!!!! I think after all was said and done we got around 36 inches. INSANE!!!! Here is the last picture at 6:00 pm. I will do a video for tomorrow. We will not be going anywhere for a while. My driveway is clear, but there is about 2ft of snow on the road.

4:00 pm ET - Still snowing (how many times have I said that now??!!), but it is slowing down a little bit so that is good news. VDOT just announced on NBC4 that it may be next week before they get into the neighborhoods to clear the streets especially since we are getting more snow on Tuesday/Wednesday. See how my nice tall evergreen tree is now limp and droopy.

2:00 pm ET – It’s still coming down quite heavy. We just got the call that school is closed for Monday and Tuesday and they are talking about a possibility of 6+ inches of snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday so that will probably put us out for Wed at least. Should be a fun week around here.

2pm snowmageddon 2010 Washington DC day 2

Noon ET – I can’t believe this, but it is still snowing at a rate of about 2 inches/hour. And they tell us that we are getting a heavier band of snow coming in later this afternoon. My neighbor and my son cleared the driveway, but there is already a couple of inches on the driveway. This is absolutely insane. I don’t even know how to describe it, so here is a picture…   I don’t know how much we have, but it’s closing in on 30 inches I think.

Noon snowmageddon 2010 washington dc day 2

9:00 am ET – We now have 26 inches on the ground and about 10 inches still coming. Supposed to be done by 10pm, unless it stalls. This is absolutely insane. And my 13 yr old is PO’d cuz he wants a new game and we can’t go get it. The dog jumped out onto the deck and then jumped right back in. She won’t go outside now. I’m going to have to teach her to pee in the toilet I think.

5:00 am ET – I got up just to take a few pictures at 5am. It was coming down hard. I could hear the wind still howling for much of the night. The drifting is real bad too.

5am snowmageddon 2010 washington dc day 2 feb 6

Midnight – It’s Midnight and it’s been snowing for 14 hours now and we have 12+ inches. As I’m laying in bed, I can hear the wind whistling and pulling the siding up from the house. We do not have any big trees around our house, so there are no chances of a tree falling on my house. It’s so quiet in the house and I’m watching the snow blowing out my window. Very pretty!

Snowmageddon 2010 has Started in the DC Area, Day 1

UPDATED at 10:00 PM, Feb 5

20 – 30 inches of snow! Yes, that is what they are predicting for us. It’s been dubbed Snowmageddon 2010. This is the 2nd big snowstorm this winter. You may remember on December 19, when we got hit with 19 inches of snow. Well Mother Nature has decided that storm wasn’t enough so she’s showing going to top that storm.

I went out yesterday and bought all the groceries we’ll need especially since tomorrow night Sunday night (thought it was Saturday since my kids are home) is the SuperBowl. (I’m not a big football fan, but I love watching the commercials and eating the food.) We are all set.

Bring it on Mother Nature….we can handle it. I’ll keep updating with pictures and video. It’ll give me a purpose this weekend so hopefully I won’t go nuts with 4 kids and I stuck…

10:00 pm ET - We have about 6+ inches on the ground. It’s blowing sideways and blowing all over so it’s kind of hard to tell. I’m not sure if I’ll be up for the Midnight picture, but I plan to get up at least once or twice during the night to add some pictures. I am taking video also and I’ll put that together once it’s all done.

10pm snowmageddon 2010 in Washington DC area

8:00 pm ET – Now the snow is really starting to pile up. They are talking about thunder snow too. Have you ever seen anything like that? I haven’t, but they said we don’t want to because then the snow is really heavy.

8pm snowmageddon 2010 in Washington DC

6:00 pm ET – We are now hitting dark so the pics are a little harder to see cuz it’s all so bright from the flash. We have about 4 inches and it’s coming down heavier. We went out to clear the driveway and just as we finished we realized the top part had about 1/2 inch already on it in about 15 min. We are not going to be able to keep up with it over night. And now I smell like a gas station. YUCK! Now I know why I got married. So I can smell pretty and not like a gas can.

6pm Snowmageddon 2010 started in DC

4:00 pm ET – It’s still steadily snowing, however I think we have about 3 inches total now. But this is still the light snow. The heavy snow is supposed to come in the middle of the night. I will probably get up during the night and take some pictures just because the snowstorm of the century doesn’t come around too often. The kids are playing with friends, I’m watching the weather channel and reading blogs.

4pm snowmageddon 2010 in DC area

2:00 pm ET – It’s been steadily snowing, but it’s a really wet heavy snow so it seems to be compacting down. It looks like we have about 2.5 – 3 inches now. They are now saying it looks like we will have closer to 30 inches and probably the WORST winter storm weather that we have EVER seen in the DC area.

2pm Snowmageddon 2010 in DC area

Noon ET – 2 hours into the snow now. The temps are still around 34, so it’s not sticking to the roads much, but the temps are going to drop this afternoon. My 13 yr old asked if we could go out and shovel now so we don’t have to do it later??? Ah, not something we can do in advance, but I wish we could. I give him credit for trying to plan ahead though. So far the kids have done Martian Matters and Piczos, now they are making lunch. The fighting isn’t too bad yet, but then it’s only been 2 hours.

11am Snowmageddon 2010 has started in DC area

10:00 am ET – When the snow started to fall. There is some snow on the ground, but that is leftover from the snowstorms we had last weekend and last Tuesday.
